bluesdrivemonster: Front suspension rebuild
The start of the front suspension rebuild for bluesdreivemonster

Taking the front suspension apart on my 1981 Toyota Corolla (aka bluesdrivemonster) and converting to it to coilovers for and AE86.

New and old parts on the work bench. From top left to bottom right:
- tension rod brackets
- control arms with roll center adjusters
- sway bar bushings
- proportioning valves
- control arm and sway bar bushings
Bushings are from Prothane and all parts were purchased from Techno Toy Tuning.

Start with one dirty AE86 strut

Rotors will be replaced and the hubs should clean up fine. Once the brake pads were removed the hubs turned easily.

Compared to the TE72 brakes the AE86 brake caliper is slightly larger and provides many more options for aftermarket brake components including brake pads, rotors, stainless steel brake lines, etc...

A sturdy vice, PB blaster, and an impact gun make disassembly quick.

Last step is to remove the lower spring perch as it won't be needed

Wrapped and ready to ship. (Obviously there is a second one but the process is exactly the same)

This is what the finished product will look like. I can't recommend T3 enough.
